Album Overview

Released June 6, 2020 on M.E. Taylor Music

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Matthew Evan Taylor performed original works, recorded in May—June 2020. These are the musical reactions to seven days of unrest in the name of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and countless other black men and women murdered in cold blood for nothing more than the color of their skin.

This is meant to be both a balm and a call to arms, figuratively speaking. Hopefully, no arms will be raised... but it’s a call to action to not let this moment slip by. And then another decade, score of years, or century go by before we actually rectify this great sin in our country.

“We explore his piece Lamentation for the Fallen from the Say Their Names album: a musical reactions to 7 days of unrest in the name of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and countless other murdered black men and women.”
